History of Boxing

Box is a rather ancient kind of sport; it is actually the sport that was developed of the ancient fistfighting. The fistfighting was a common kind of sport for ancient people and for ancient Olympic Games. Of course it was something different from the common boxing we know today but it was of the same nature of it. Though there were rules different.
For example there was no common number of rounds for fighters and the fight lasted till one of fighters lost its consciousness or admit its fail. It was a rather cruel and rough kind of sport and it was twice crueler than common boxing you know today. The number of those who were killed at the ring was a great number but people were still crazy about this kind of sport.
Soon there appeared something that is the prototype for common boxing gloves but still they never wore boxing gloves and those were more like ribbons they winded round their hands with in order to escape cripple. And later those were modified and became more alike the modern boxing loves. And the rules of boxing appeared later, much later in England.
Box was a common sport for Olympic Games but soon it was rejected as an Olympic sport because people recognized it to be too cruel. Still, today box is a common kind of Olympic sport.
