The Knockdown

Knockdown is another peculiar feature or phenomenon of boxing and it is worthy to talk about. Knockdown is also a result of punch and this is when the boxer looses its coordination for a while. Though, the knockdown may be the tough one and in this case referee has a right to proclaim not the knockdown but the knockout, there are rules that regulate it.
So, in case a boxer was punched and he lost his way for a while and touched the ring with the third point of support. The third point of support is a knee or the elbow or the hand. In case he touches the ring with a third point of support referee starts counting to eight and this is a time given for a boxer to show he is okay and square up and the fight goes on.
In case fighter is too lost in order to get up and square up referee continues counting to ten and after that he states knockout but not knockdown. There is the standing knockdown and it is the case when referee is sure that those were only tackles that prevents a boxer to fall down. And there is also flash-knockdown. In this case boxer touches the flour with third point of support but gets up at once.
In case there were three knockdowns during the one fight for a boxer it means that he is in technical knockout and he is the one who looses this fight. So, knockdown is not that terrible as the knockout is but it may develop into knockout.
